Started making sculptures finally ! ついに彫刻をつくり始めた！

I have noticed this angle is better to see the model as I can see the difference of each apple.
こっちから模型を見た方が全部の林檎の違いがわかりやすいことに今更ながら気づいた。

At the same time the exhibition "When the Wind Blows", which I curated in Millennium Court Arts Centre just started !

ちょうど同時に自分がミレニアム・コート・アート・センターでキュレーションした「風が吹くとき」も始まった！

The Avengers !

“Five Apples” project is the biggest commission in my entire career.

As the budget is huge, I need time to do a lot of paperwork much more than I’ve imagined.

I’ve kept learning how the process of these kinds of the commission work.

I also learned that I really need patience to wait.

予算が大きいので、予想していたより多くの事務作業が必要になることを知った。

こういったコミッションワークがどのようなプロセスを経て実現していくのか学ぶことの毎日。待つ事の対して特に忍耐力が必要なことも学んだ。

1 day before the meeting my car broke unexpectedly. 

I must have fixed the car from early in the morning before the meeting.

We had a meeting with really skilled carver, Thomas Anderson in Peter Spence Composites.

As we don’t have so much time left for the deadline of the project,

I need to involve skilled people to complete the project like I have imagined.

I felt like I made a great team like “The Avengers” now.

優れた彫刻技術を持つトーマス・アンダーソンとピータースペンス・コンポジットでミーティング。

プロジェクトの締め切りまで残された時間が少ないので、自分の頭の中にアイデア通りにプロジェクトを完成するために、技術の高い人々を雇うことが必要になる。

最高の人材が集結して、「アベンジャーズ」を結成した気分だ。

The material I played last week for testing were covered with GRP(Glass Reinforced Plastic) by Peter Spence.

They looks interesting.

テストのため先週遊んでみた材料が、ピーターによってFRPでコーティングされた。

Meeting in the People's Park

We had a meeting in the site of "The People's Park" with Peter Spence Composites to talk about the concrete foundation of the sculptures.
彫刻のコンクリートの基礎について、「人々の公園」の設置場所でピータースペンスコンポジットとミーティングをした。

Though it was bad wether, to decide the location of sculptures we measured briefly before going back to Belfast
天気が悪かったが、彫刻の設置場所を決めるため、ベルファストに戻る前に大まかに寸法を確認した。

2 days' community engagement workshops

Sinéad O'Donnell and I had community engagement workshops for 4 groups of local people in Ballymena from 29th to 30th January at Braid Arts Centre and Dunclug Community Centre.

In these workshops after my introduction of "Five Apples" project, I let all participants listen 3 songs of "The Beatles" as one of my apple sculptures are related to "The Beatles".

With listening lyric of the song which they selected, they have made a painting of the song with their imagination.  That's the similar method how I visualize apple sculptures with my imagination.

Everybody' s painting is now installed in The Braid Arts Centre to exhibit.  Please check them out when you stop by.

私たちは1月29日から30日までバレミーナの4つの異なるグループの人々のために、ブレイド・アート・センターとダンクラグ・コミュニティ・センターで、ワークショップを開催しました。このワークショップでは、「五個の林檎」プロジェクトの紹介の後、１つの林檎がビートルズに因んだ林檎であるように、全ての参加者に3曲のビートルズ・ナンバーを聞いてもらいました。その中から好きな一曲を選んでもらい、歌詞を聞きながら想像力を使ってその曲の絵を描いてもらいました。それは自分が林檎を彫刻作品として想像力で具体化するのと同じ方法です。参加者皆さんの絵が今ブレイドアートセンターに展示されてます。立ち寄ったら、是非見てみて下さい。
