As I want the different texture with the surface of the apples, I painted base color using the brush with leaving marks on the surface on purpose.
林檎の表面と違うテクスチャーが欲しいので、意図的に塗装面にハケ跡を残すためブラシで塗装した。

Started spraying on my own for the 1st time during the project.

このプロジェクトでは初めて自分でスプレー塗装を始めた

Spraying stems / ヘタをスプレー塗装

Again Peter has processed some work for me. Thank you so much Peter!
またピーターが仕事を少しすすめてくれた。ありがとうピーター！

After sanding stems a little bit more, I asked Peter to spay them.

更にヘタを少し研磨したあとピーターにスプレー塗装をお願いした。

After spaying I have found some dents on the surface of stems. I have to come again tomorrow to do stopper, sand and spray them again. Peter & Conor in front of the stems.
塗装した後に、またヘタの表面の凸凹を発見。自分の研磨があまかったせい。また明日来て、目止め、研磨の塗装をもう一度繰り返さなければならない。ヘタの前のピーターとコナー。

Modeling stems / ヘタの造形

When I arrived in Peter's factory, peter has already processed some work for me.
ピーターの工場に到着すると、ピーターはいつくかの仕事を自分のためにしといてくれた。

I added more fiber filler on the surface of stems before sanding.

Started making stems again in Peter's factory / ピーターの工場でヘタを再製作開始

Steel structures for the stems Peter Spence ordered arrived finally !

ヘタの内部に組み込むピーターが注文した鉄の構造体がついに到着！

After painting the steel surface with the primer, covered structures with the carbon and GRP. And then roughly sanding.
プライマーを鉄の表面に塗った後、構造体をカーボンやFRPで皮膜。そして大雑把に研磨

Reproducing stems properly as final mission / 最後のミッションのためヘタを完璧に再製作中

As I found the way I fixed the stem on my own were not the best way, I had meetings with Peter Spence to asked his advice again. Though we have no more funding for the project, he kindly agreed to do me a favor to fix stems together as our final mission. Thank you so much Peter Spence!
自分のヘタの修理方法が最善の方法でないことに気づいたので、ピーターにアドバイスを求めるため再びミーティングを行った。もうプロジェクトのための資金はないが、親切にもボランティアで最後の仕事としてヘタを修復を助けてくれることに同意してくれた。どうもありがとうピーター・スペンス！

Continuous vandalism / 継続的な破壊行為

Continuos vandalism make me upset. Even after 3rd vandalism, I have tried to be positive with thinking about the fact that the vandalism brought me the opportunity to meet many local people in Ballymena while fixing the sculptures.
In my impression majority of local people who come to the park were delighted with sculptures. And they have often told me good comments about the sculptures with talking to me. I also see many kids really love sculptures when I see how they play with them. They have also often talked to me.
But unfortunately there are also a few people who don't think with the same way. They like destroying what other people love. Though I have been working on the site until 9 pm yesterday, during the night time after the park closed, they intruded into the park and destroyed the stems again. It was 4th vandalism. Again they let me down.
Most of friends around me have started advising me that I should start keeping away from the sculptures. But as a professional artist I cannot compromise with the situation and I cannot leave the sculptures with the terrible situation. Even after the official launch, the project has not finished yet.
継続的な破壊行為で心が折れそうだ。三回目の破壊行為の後でさえ、破壊行為があったからこそ、彫刻を修理している間、バレミーナの多くの地元の人々に会えたのは事実なので、そういうふうにポジティブに捉えようとした。
自分の印象ではほとんどの公園に来る人が彫刻を喜んでくれていると思った。多くの人が自分に声をかけて、素晴らしい感想をくれる。多くの子供たちが彫刻が大好きなのも、遊んでいる様子を見てとれたし、彼らも実際よく自分に話しかけてきた。
しかしながら、同じように考えない少数の人間もいて、彼らは他の人が好きなものを破壊することで喜びを感じるのである。昨日は夜の9時まで現場で働いていたが、自分が去って公園が閉まった後、彼らは公園に侵入して、ヘタをまた破壊したのである。これで4回目の破壊である。再び絶望感を味わった。
自分の周りの友達にはそろそろこの彫刻と距離を取った方がいいとすすめられたが、プロフェッショナルなアーティストとして現状に妥協できないし、彫刻をひどい状況で放置はできないと思った。公式公開イベントの後でさえ、プロジェクトはまだ終らないのである。
